on the fly has has played an integral role in the development of Sydney’s – indeed Australia’s – music and club identity, breaking new party sounds like Baltimore club, dubstep, crunk and hyphy, baile funk from Brazil and Kwaito from South Africa while fostering a resurgent interest in Miami bass, electro funk, disco, solid house music and fresh hip hop.

www.onthefly.com.au is a hub for all of these activities – a leading website which includes all the latest music news and gig listings, party pix and exclusive downloads, DJ mixes and interviews with the world’s best acts: from Jamie Lidell to Mr Oizo, Erol Alkan and Lee Perry. It plays host to an online community  of 15,000 music lovers and party people!

We are most active in Sydney, and have developed a close relationship with trailblazing indie radio station FBi 94.5fm. We like them! With them we have a shared community who receive alerts on  on-air happenings and various party and gig alerts, and we have built an inbound SMS facility through which listeners request songs, cast votes and review gigs – our FBi on the fly segment runs at 5pm every Monday and Friday.

We work with weekly Sydney street press mag The Brag - we talk the same language and generate two pages of news that is published at the front of the paper on pages 12 & 14.
